“WE’VE GROWN PRETTY FAST … AND WE’VE DONE IT RIGHT”

Located in southeastern New Mexico, Bullseye Construction company provides exceptional oilfield construction services throughout the Permian Basin, reaching down into western Texas. The company builds and maintains roads and drilling sites, including foundations and everything underneath. They are a loyal Cat® customer with a fleet of more than 20 pieces of equipment – and virtually every single machine carries the familiar Cat® logo. Under the watchful eye of owner Jerry Sherrell, the company began doing work for the public in 2013 and grew from eight employees to more than 40 during that time. How’d they do it?

“We’ve grown pretty fast, yet we’ve grown steadily, and we’ve done it right,” says Sales and Equipment Manager Dru Sanders, one of Bullseye’s original employees. “We’re particular about who we hire, so, we have good relationships with our customers – and we are well-known for having equipment that runs. We don’t have many breakdowns in the field. We depend on our Cat machines. Our customers know when they call us, we’re coming and we’re coming strong.”

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE KEEPS BULLSEYE’S CUSTOMERS HAPPY

The company works for big-name oil companies, and the competition to win business can be tough. Bullseye counts Caterpillar and Cat® dealer Wagner as partners, and the construction company credits their smooth operations to the Cat Preventive Maintenance Agreement (PMA). “I’ve been working with Cat equipment for more 13 years and in that time, we’ve had only one engine failure,” Dru remarks. “We get our preventive maintenance done, and our equipment keeps running. Our customers love our service because we don’t have any breakdowns.”

RENTAL PURCHASE OPTION PROVIDES FLEXIBILITY

Another Caterpillar service that supports Bullseye is the Rental Purchase Option (RPO) offered through Cat Financial. “Right now, our industry is going through the roof. If we take the option to rent a machine, our payment goes toward the purchase price. But if business falls off in a year or so and I don’t need that machine, I can give it back. That flexibility that allows us to meet demand when business is booming,” Dru says.

When asked about working with Cat dealer Wagner, Dru simply says, “It’s great working with Wagner. They jump through hoops for us. Our PSSR rep is awesome.”
